Sound sleep at night results in a fresh morning. If your sleep is not peaceful it can make you irritated, and sleepy the following day. Insomnia is one sleep disorder that doesn’t allow you to sleep well. This disorder affects both your mental as well as physical health. It is a very common problem these days. Insomnia patients usually wake up at night or early morning and face problems in going back to sleep again.

Insomnia leaves you inactive, sleepy, and tired in the morning. Regardless of your hectic schedule, you may find sleeping difficult at night. There could be many causes for sleeplessness.   • Disease or Other Medication – Medicinal drugs for other diseases can also interfere with your sleep.
  • Environmental Factors – Factors like light, and noise can also cause insomnia. Temperature variations light, noise, and hot or cold weather can disturb your sleep.
  • Change in Daily Routine – A sudden change in daily routine could be the reason for inadequate sleep. A change in job shift from day to night or a new workout plan can alter your sleep.
  • Depression or Anxiety – Daily anxiety or traumatic anxieties can also cause insomnia. Mental disorders like depression result in either too much sleep
  • Discomfort – If the body is uneasy at night due to sickness or any other reason like an uncomfortable bed, this may result in irregular sleep.
  • Bad Eating Habits – Taking caffeinated drinks like coffee, tea, or cola before going to bed keeps you awake at night. Taking a heavy diet before sleep can make you uncomfortable sleeping.

How to Treat Insomnia

Acute and transient insomnia can be cured by a few changes in lifestyle. Good sleeping habits can help you in preventing it. If it still persists you can go for mild sleeping pills prescribed by the doctor. Avoid relying on sleeping pills as the body may become habitual of them and lose their effectiveness gradually.

Behavioral therapy can help treat insomnia. In such therapies, patients are taught better sleeping habits and relaxation methods. In some cases, anti-depressants are also recommended by doctors. They give a sedative effect to patients and reduce anxiety. If insomnia is because by other illnesses then you must consult the doctor for its treatment or change the prescription of medicine to give you a good sound sleep.
